FLORENCE CERAMICS
COMPANY PORCELAIN DOLL / FIGURINE IN REAL FABRIC GOLD BROCADE GOWN,
I think from the 1960's, she reminds me of Jackie Kennedy even though her
hair is not so dark as Jackie's, the part I like is how she holds her gown
with her articulated hand, about 11 3/4" high; porcelain under the gown
is white and has a small gold colored base, I am sorry I could not
get good pictures of this figurine, marked on the bottom "Florence Ceramics
Co. Pasadena California, "Semi-Porcelain and then what looks like an etched
"Ki" or "Xi", bottom also has the original price sticker from Phil's Gift
Shop; fair condition, mostly very good condition except for 4 of
the fingers in the extended hand which are broken off and I do not have
the missing pieces, she seems to have what looks like old glue around the
top of the gown -- I am pretty certain it is original to the process of
making the piece, it seems like it should be removable as some of
it came right off when I rubbed it it; there is some soiling on the
velvet bow on the bodice of the gown, and one of the petals on the flowers
in her hair looks a bit suspicious -- like a piece of a petal has
been broken off, but it does not feel like a break so I really do not think
it is, I really just think the petal was originally made with a sharper
look rather than a rounded look #AP30857

ROSEVILLE MATTE
GREEN HANGING BASKET, looks much better than my photo (I swear those photos
show problems that you do not see just looking at the piece), GUARANTEED
TO BE OLD AND NOT A REPRODUCTION, 5" high and 5 1/2" mouth, very good condition
with some mineral deposits & some scuffing on the outside (these are
things you can get rid of), the white spots on the inside of pot are firing
marks (part of production and not defects), the dark marks on the inside
seem to be rust, but I am not certain; whereas the other mineral deposits
inside the basket came off with Limeaway, the rust marks did not; no cracks
or chips, a couple of small spots of missed color from the production process
#AP30880 $95.00 . |

VERY LARGE HAEGER
MATTE IVORY PORCELAIN MADONNA PLANTER (or you could call it a JARDINIERE),
harder-to-find version with no cuffs, marked "Haeger USA" in blue on the
bottom, about 14" high, 9" across and 10" deep, good condition, there is
a hairline crack in the front in the draping of her robe at the bottom
of the jardiniere which is not a glaring defect because it blends with
the draping (I failed to see it before I listed this item on my site);
there is a small and fine line on the back of her neck which I think it
is another hairline, but it does not go through to the other side of the
pottery and I cannot feel it with my nail so it could be just a scratch,
because it is in the back of the planter and it is soo fine, it really
does not detract from the looks of the piece at all; The 2 things that
detract the most (but still not a lot) are 2 under-the-glaze production
defects - one is a small dark spot above her breast; the other is
two small light spots (almost like a broken line) of very pale blue
on her temple (under the glaze); finally, there are a couple of other production
defects that are very small and very typical of Haeger pottery
#AP30563 $18.00
